The 2007 Ministerial Seminar will deliver firsthand information about government support for biotechnology innovation in key strategic regions representing emerging and established markets.

Federal-level ministers of science & technology, trade and economics will focus on the advancement of stable innovation systems through predictable funding, intellectual property and data protection frameworks, and regulation and the climate for biotechnology commercialization in health care, food & agriculture, and industrial & environmental biotech. Stable innovation systems are the key to the development of new technologies to enhance the quality of life and the environment worldwide.

Confirmed speakers include Dep. Honorable Derek Hanekom, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (South Africa); The Honorable Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, Minister of Science (Thailand); The Honorable Steve Mallard, Minister of Economic Development (New Zealand); and The Honorable Miguel Campos, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food (Argentina).
